Maple Heights Gas Explosion in Cleveland Ohio.

My crew and I responded to this small job, of course it happened at 4:30 pm another end of the day job. The fiber you see burning in the second picture is a 576 count that came up a riser it burnt off at the ground along with most of the poles in the intersection.

We worked around the clock for 7 days never leaving the job site, sleeping in the fiber trailers and trucks in 2hr shifts in all we had to rebuild strand coax and fiber in all four directions for 2 blocks replace all the coax and splice a total of 1100 fibers.

We were completed before any other utility and ran the power supply on the node with a generator for three more days until power was restored.

Several business were effected but the gas station 2 blocks away remained open where we ate some high quality meals lol.

Nice thing to see when you drive up to your last outage of the day !!!!

And the work begins                                                  Dan Kuckes   and  Mark Haughn

the 576 count fiber.
